Three Rivers Back Country Horsemen The Three Rivers Chapter of Back Country Horseman meets on the first Tuesday of each month @ the Search & Rescue Building located at 1000 Highway 41 North, Dillon, Montana. The meeting starts @ 7:00 P.M. Fill out a Membership Form and join us. Founded January 23, 1996 The Three Rivers Chapter was originally formed, and is comprised of members from Dillon, Twin Bridges, Sheridan, and Silver Star & Whitehall. These towns are situated along three major rivers (Beaverhead River, Jefferson River and the Ruby River) The chapter members decided Three Rivers would be an appropriate name for their Chapter. Three Rivers Chapter Projects: Weed Day: Works with Beaverhead and Madison County Weed Programs to help contain noxious weeds. Sponsors Kids Day: Provides horseback rides to children that seldom have opportunity to ride a horse. Serve lunch to the kids, and provide instruction on proper method for leaving no trace and for survival in the back country with horses. Cooperative Project: Cooperates with the U S Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management in clearing trails, packing materials on site for new construction of bridge, puncheon, sign installation, construct rock cairns & blazes trail. Bannack Days: Provide packing demonstrations for back country horseback traveler during annual Bannack Days. Monthly Ride: Takes a monthly ride, sometimes overnight pack trips, to enjoy the scenery, wildlife, take photos and generally enjoy the beauty of nature. |
