Ann Bishop, Helena – ann.bishop@lee.net, 406-443-2442

Bishop arrived in Montana 26 years ago as an illustrator for the BLM.  She fell in love with the flora and fauna of the Big Sky.  Educated in Italy and Montana State University, Bishop excels in pencil, pen & ink, painting in acrylic, watercolor and pastels along with bronze sculpture and pottery.  Her murals grace walls in Bozeman and Helena.

Marlene Gerer, Denton – 406-567-2443

Gerer was born and raised near Denton.  A self-taught artist, Gerer’s favorite subjects are her surroundings.   A fascination with cloud formations inspired her imagination and led to a signature limited edition, “Square Butte Images of the Past” which contains 9 hidden pictures in the clouds.  In 2006, Gerer won the 2006 Chokecherry Festival logo contest.

Carol Poppenga, Lewistown – poppengacarol@hotmail.com

Poppenga is primarily a landscape artist. In September, 2006, she completed the Residency in the Bob Marshall Wilderness program. Oil is her primary medium. She says, “The ultimate challenge is to create an artwork that remains visually engaging over time.” She earned a B.A. in U.S. History and Art (summa cum laude) from the University of Great Falls. She also studied at the Alberta College of Art in Calgary.  Poppenga’s work is represented at the Artworks Gallery in Bozeman.

Sarah Ozment, Hobson – 406-423-5672

Ozment works in many mediums including oil, acrylic, watercolor and pottery.  Formally trained with a degree in Fine Art, Ozment approaches each creative experience with ‘fresh eyes’ resulting in most engaging pieces.  She says, “I believe in the power of what we see. The artist sees, and bring emotion and intellect to the making of works unique to their philosophy and experience.”

Pamela J. Sharpe - Lewistown

Sharpe grew up in Alaska and co-piloted into the Alaskan bush.  Later she attended the University of Alaska, University of Arkansas and University of Great Falls pursuing a degree in Fine Arts. A multi-medium artist, Sharpe is an avid observer.  Her commissioned portraits of people, dogs and horses are memorable. Her work can be seen at the Moccasin Mountain Art Gallery and the Art Center in Lewistown.

Joseph Ziolkowski, Lewistown – zedzart@midrivers.com

Joe Ziolkowski is a 4th generation Montanan. He attended the Seattle Art Institute and continued his studies under watercolor Master Dan Deegan, a Pikes Place Market merchant in Seattle.
