2008 Defensive Horsemanship Clinic

Our Gallatin Valley Backcountry Horseman will be sponsoring its second Defensive Horsemanship clinic on Saturday, April 5th to begin at 8:30am and last until 5:00.

This is a FREE clinic. It is not mandatory, but recommended that you bring your horse. This clinic is a requirement by the Forest Service for our members and friends who plan to volunteer their time on trail maintenance and be around stock. This is not for certification. There are pamphlets available for you to read and may be on hand at the general meeting or call Janice Cartwright 579-3445.

8:30 a.m. Registration:

9:00 a.m. First Aid for Horses:

10:00-12:00 and 1:00 p.m.-4:00 p.m. Round-robin, each group going to four instruction stations for 60 minutes each. After everyone attends two sessions, we’ll break for chow at 12:00. Sessions will resume at 1:00 and run until 4:00.
